Paul Brosseau is retiring from breeding Canadian Horses. I recently met Paul
and each of his Canadians during my visit at his farm. All horses are
trimmed and wormed every three months and very well cared for. Paul's
trainer will soon be riding and driving all the trained Canadians as a
refresher. We have listed each horse's asking price but Paul will certainly
make good deals for those who will make the trip to meet with him and his
horses. He is very attached to his herd and would like to see them go to
good homes. These are quiet, kind and personable Canadians ranging from
Weanlings to Herd Sires. There is a big, cozy stable for viewing all his
horses offered for sale and he is perfectly bilingual. He is located 45
minutes from Montreal and about 1.5 hours east of Ottawa. Grenville-sur-la
rouge is right next to Hawkesbury, Ontario.

Elsa is Paul's foundation herd mare, she is his favorite. She is black and
stands 16hh. She is the dam of KAMILIE, PACOT, RIVAL and SARABELLE. Elsa won
Grand Champion Reserve at Expo Quebec

This is the other mare that really caught my eye, Nuance looks and behaves
like she is heavy in Henrvyille lineage yet she has only a trace according
to the CLRC – and what a beauty! She has one of those heads and eyes you
never forget. She is bay with some dappling and has the largest eyes I have
ever seen on a Canadian mare. Paul tells me that she is probably his
quietest of all his quiet mares. She stands 15.2hh with a medium frame. Asking $5500 CDN. Trained to saddle only, harness training

Jessy was Nordique's handsome herd sire, but is now a handsome gelding. He stands 15.1hh, is solid black and
like his son Pacot, he is classic Cheval Canadien with abundant mane and
tail, big, bright, alert eyes, small muzzle, chiseled head with delicate
ears, full, powerful croup and correct limbs, superb hooves. Jessy was shown
once at Expo Quebec in 2002 and placed 2nd in line class. Paul tells me that
Jessy is trained to saddle and to drive single.
FERME LEBLANC YOGI GABY #7461

This attractive, true black mare struck a special chord with me. Gaby is
blind in one eye due to a fencing accident years ago yet Paul tells me she
never missed a beat, still driving single/double and going under saddle as
if she still had full vision. She is very quiet and friendly, and has a
pink nose and star, she is 15.2-3hh and produces beautiful foals! Marquis,
Nirma and Ruby all sold quickly. Gaby's 2006 stunning colt, SHIRAZ, was
only born on October 10 so they are being sold as a package. Gaby will be
rebred to L'Harmonie Darius Jessy #7828 this week.
NORDIQUE YOGI KAMILIE #8801

Black with two hind socks, Kamilie stands 15.2hh and like her half sister,
Kalie, has a solid frame. She too is very friendly and quiet, a proven
broodmare and also fully trained to drive single/double and go under
saddle. Kamilie is the dam of SABINA (filly).
NORDIQUE JESSY PENELOPE #10742

Penelope is half sister to Nuance, they are very similar in appearance but
Penelope is already 16hh. Like Nuance, Penelope is trained to saddle and
will be started in harness training next week. Paul’s trainer said of
Penelope that she is the ‘Cadillac’ ride of all his horses and she has
more ‘go’ than Nuance. She would be ideal for someone who has a bad back
and requires a smooth ride. She is kind and quiet too. Penelope is bay in
color and a nice looking mare.

Prudence is a pretty solid black mare who stands 15.2hh. She is trained to
saddle and her harness training will start next week. Prudence is mild
mannered and has a solid frame, she is classic Cheval Canadien.

This handsome black gelding is the epitome
of classic Cheval Canadien with his small, delicate muzzle and ears,
gorgeous head and neck, nice rounded croup and perfectly correct limbs, he
is proud yet very sociable and gentle with people. Pacot, like his sire
Jessy, has lovely, large eyes, he's a very pretty boy. His sire stands
15.1hh, his dam 16hh. Pacot will be started under saddle next week.
COLT: NORDIQUE JESSY SHIRAZ (registration pending)
Born October 10, 2006, this outstanding colt caught my eye immediately, he
was only 3 days old at the time. He is black with a star and his head is
just beautiful with a slight dished nose reminiscent of the Canadian's Arab
ancestry. He is extremely quiet and affectionate, and handled daily, he has
no fear of people. He is very refined in bone, a very elegant colt. Shiraz
is only offered for sale with his dam, FERME LEBLANC YOGI GABY.
