Baron was National Champion at the National Futurity in l995. His first son, Falcon, was Champion, Great Champion and Senior Champion of Quebec in 1998.

Baron is of very rare lineage, only son of the mare Walken Baron Lilly (one of two purebred mares from the stallion named Baron used at Upper Canada Village).

Trained to drive and has been ridden.

This mature stallion is well mannered, always a gentleman. He is a refined horse, even tempered through the breeding season. He gets along well with other horses. Heisler is a strikingly handsome stallion who has been a joy to be around. We purchased him as a yearling and he has lived with a mare herd ever since. He was trained in breeding manners by an old broodmare who taught him to be polite with mares or else. He can also be hand bred. His has some of the rarer bloodlines such as HENRYVILLE and LOU.

I once dreamed of riding endurance on Heisler to show off the breed and one day doing the Tevis Cup with him. He was trained to ride and drive. Unfortunately we had an accident with a cart and he cut a tendon on the left rear. He re-injured it in a slip in the mud in the spring of 2004. While he is still rideable as a pleasure horse, he is no longer a horse that could be ridden competitively as there would be too much risk of re-injury. For the last three years he has been running in the pasture and turned out with the mares he has bred for the season. He is still incredibly friendly and manageable as the photos show. There is one of visiting a cat and another visiting a foal in the pasture, one with my grandson riding a mare in the pasture with Heisler grazing in the background, and riding him bareback in the snow.

With the passing of my wife Elaine due to ovarian cancer, it is more difficult to manage the farm on my own, train new foals and keep horses fit and in working condition. I am not in a hurry to sell Heisler, he can stay with his mare herd until the 2008 breeding season or longer. I want him to go to a good home. Asking $6000 CDN but going to a good home is more important to me than price.
